"Women's: the place we call home when we're not home"
These are the words chosen by College women and engraved into a plaque. Below is a list of the facilities available to current residents and Associates.
Harriet Marks Dining Hall & Verandah
The 240-seat Harriet Marks Dining Hall is one of the most recognisable spaces at Women’s. All meals are served here, including weekly formal dinners.
The Women's College's air-conditioned library is a spacious, light-filled and well-appointed area for quiet study, with computers and meeting spaces for student use.
Two common rooms in each wing provide a place to meet up, make a cuppa or watch tv. In addition to each wing common room, there is also the Freda Bage Common Room where you can study together, play the piano or watch tv.
Affectionately named in memory of a member of the College staff, Vic’s Place is a room away from the accommodation wings that has tv/dvd facilities. Here you can meet with friends or celebrate College sporting wins while not disturbing others.
Women’s boasts a music practice room for you to fine-tune your performance skills or simply play for fun, with soundproofing provided through a donation from an alumna.
The student workroom is available for painting, model making or doing any project that needs a bigger space. It is particularly popular with Architecture and Design students.
The College Playhouse
Women’s has its own theatre and conference facilities in the 150-seat May Hancock Auditorium. The oval foyer provides an elegant reception area which spills out to beautifully landscaped grounds. Fully air-conditioned with state-of-the-art technology, this is a superb venue for drama productions, lectures and seminars.
The adjacent Lurleen Perrett Conference Rooms are perfect for smaller groups, seating up to 50 people. They can also be used as dressing rooms for cultural productions.
Maureen Aitken Garden and Grounds
The Maureen Aitken Garden between Old and New Wings has beautiful views to the University lake. The large grassy quadrangle outside the Harriet Marks Dining Hall and a paved courtyard ‘secret garden’ also provide a quiet haven to relax outside.
Women’s has a full sized asphalt tennis court just outside the College Playhouse and Library.

Parking is available to all 2nd and 3rd year residents. Associate Members can elect to purchase a car parking space for an annual fee of $400.
