I take great pleasure in welcoming you to the website of The Women's College within the University of Queensland.
The College provides for the academic, cultural, sporting and social needs of a vibrant community of 190 resident scholars.
The Women's College was the first residential college for women attending the University of Queensland. The College was officially opened for students in 1914 at Kangaroo Point, Brisbane to provide rural women the opportunity to undertake tertiary studies. The College relocated to its present site in St Lucia in 1958. Former scholars have excelled in all of the professions and have made outstanding contributions to communities all over Australia. The College, governed by its own Council, is situated on the corner of College and Thynne Roads within the beautiful grounds of the University of Queensland http://www.uq.edu.au/maps/pdf/StLuciaMap.pdf. During semester breaks the College utilises its facilities by hosting professional conference groups.
Please enjoy browsing the website and contact the College if you require further information.
