 ‘Advice I Would Give My Younger Self’

You are invited to attend a special fundraising Formal Dinner at The Women’s College for the launch of the Alumnae Awards prize.

Join 2021 Alumna of the Year winner, Amanda Johnston-Pell, and 1990 Student Club President, Paula Wilton, for the inaugural ‘In Conversation’ series. Listen to interesting stories and conversations about ‘advice I would give my younger self’ from two alumnae who resided at The Women’s College in the late 1980s.

Date:                Thursday 20 May 2021

Time:               5:30pm – 7:45pm (Pre-dinner drinks in the Freda Bage Room followed by dinner at 6:00pm)

Venue:             Harriet Marks Dining Hall, The Women’s College, College Road, St Lucia

Cost:                $60.00 per person (includes two-course dinner, wine, tea & coffee)

Parking:          Due to students being in residence, very limited on-site visitor parking is available. However, a car parking station is available on Thynne Road.

At the event you will have the opportunity to bid on an exciting auction prize and purchase tickets in a major raffle prize.

The auction prize includes a private Lunch with Dr Sallyanne Atkinson AO, the first female Lord Mayor of Brisbane (1985-1991), former Senior Trade Commissioner to Paris and Special Representative for Queensland in South East Asia.  Dr Atkinson also served as The Women’s College Council President for 11 years.

The highest bidder will enjoy a two-course lunch with Sallyanne Atkinson prepared by our Executive Chef and served in a private function room at The Women’s College. The prize remains valid until 30 November 2021.

A percentage of the dinner ticket price as well as funds raised from the auction and major raffle will go towards the new Alumnae Awards prize which will be presented to a Women’s College student for the first time in 2022.

The Alumnae Awards prize awardee will be an inspirational student who has raised her profile and standing within the College community, demonstrating outstanding community service and/or continuous and significant contributions in a leadership role. The prize aligns with the College vision to empower women to lead lives of meaning and purpose.
