Standing Committee Luncheon 2020

A highlight on the College calendar is the annual Standing Committee Luncheon. This special event acknowledges the Standing Committee, the original assembly of prominent citizens and community leaders who established, promoted and fundraised for The Women’s College from the early 1900s. Named in their honour, this luncheon proudly acknowledges the past efforts of generations of committed College alumnae and friends while raising funds to support annual academic prizes for current residents.
Complete with an engaging speaker, the annual Standing Committee Luncheon serves to honour our benefactors and champions, and to inspire future generations of women to commit their time and resources to such an invaluable cause. As tradition continues, the proceeds from the luncheon provide the primary source of income for the Standing Committee Prize which is awarded to a Second Year resident who has achieved outstanding academic results in Science.
This year’s luncheon guest speaker is alumna Sally McPherson (1999-2003), partner of iSeekplant, whose vision in 2012 was to take the construction industry online so that people working on infrastructure and mining projects could find the machines and services they needed in the closest proximity. We look forward to hearing about Sally’s career in a male-dominated world.
Guests will enjoy a delicious two-course meal including a glass of wine followed by tea, coffee and petits fours. Your ticket also includes an $8 donation to support our annual academic prizes and your chance to win some lucky door prizes.
11:00am – Doors Open for Registration, Welcome Drinks and Stall
11:45am – Two-course sit down lunch and Guest Speaker Address
1:15pm – Tea, Coffee and Petit Fours. Raffle, silent auction and lucky door prizes drawn.
1:45pm – Event Concludes
Cost: Tickets can be purchased individually or gather a group of friends to form a table (which adheres to social distancing measures during COVID-19). Tickets are $55 (individual) or $330 (table of 6 guests) and must be paid for in advance.
Raffle & Stall: During the event, guests will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in a multi-draw raffle, silent auction and support the popular handmade stall featuring a wonderful assortment of craft, baked goods, plants, preserves and much more.
Dress Code: Smart Casual or Business Attire
Parking: Free parking is available at the College
RSVP & Payment: No later than Friday 25 September by 4:00pm
- All tickets (individual and table) must be paid for prior to the event and by the RSVP date. Payments can be made via direct transfer or credit card online.
- For group table reservations, the person completing the RSVP form will be considered the ‘table host’. Please provide additional details for all other guests to assist with table lists, seating arrangements and name tags.
- If you would like to purchase tickets for more than one table of guests, please complete a new RSVP form for each table (with associated payment).
