Current students and young alumnae are invited to The Women’s College’s tour of UQ’s Institute for Molecular Bioscience.

On your tour, you will meet with:

  • Dr Sam Stehbens, whose research team aims to understand the fundamental principles underpinning how cells integrate chemical and physical signals from their local microenvironment to facilitate cell movement and survival.
  • Dr Sonia Shah, whose research involves analysing human genetic data to understand how a person’s genes contributes to the development of heart disease, with the aim to identify new ways to prevent and treat heart disease.
  • Dr Amy Chan, who works in the Inflammasome Lab, where they focus on defining the molecular and cellular processes of inflammation.
  • Dr Zeinab Khalil, from our the Soils for Science citizen science project. Dr Khalil and her team are analysing soil from the backyards of the community to discover, grow and catalogue the unique microbial collection in each sample to harvest new antibiotic leads.
