Thomas Ruys was appointed Executive Chef at The Women’s College in April 2023.
Executive Housekeeper
Rachel Davies brings a wealth of experience to the Executive Housekeeper role, which she began at The Women’s College in August 2024. She has held various housekeeping roles across a variety of industries.
Facilities Manager
Dugald Young was appointed Facilities Manager in September 2024 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Women’s Operations Team. He is a dedicated facilities professional with over 20 years’ experience in the building, construction and property management industry, and is driven by a passion for enhancing educational environments.
Before joining Women’s College, Dugald managed the facilities at two leading private schools in Brisbane. Earlier in his career, he gained extensive experience in the building and construction industry across South-East Queensland. Starting with a carpentry apprenticeship and earning his builder’s license, Dugald steadily advanced into roles in project management and building consulting.
Our dedicated food and beverage staff produce over 180,000 meals for our residents each year. All dietary requirements are catered for and the kitchen provides a wide range of international culinary cuisines.
This amazing team not only keep everything clean and tidy, but are in daily contact with our students helping them settle into their new home away-from-home.
Our Night Porters provide security and administration after hours for residents and conference guests. They are a valued presence by our residents.
Keeping five residential wings, expansive grounds and visitor facilities operating smoothly is no mean feat. Fortunately our facilities team are more than able to proactively manage all the grounds, maintenance and upgrades for the whole College.
