Application Options

The Women’s College offers two application types for students:

  1. Residential Membership
  2. Associate Membership

Deciding on whether you would like to apply to be a resident or associate depends on your own personal circumstances. Below is some information about the two options to help you make your decision.

Resident Membership

Being a Resident at Women’s provides many connections within the Women’s community and to other colleges on campus at The University of Queensland. It is a great opportunity for any student who does not reside in Brisbane and who wants to embrace the many benefits of a residential college such as academic tutorials, mentoring and networking opportunities.

At Women’s, you’ll quickly discover that College life is central to your university experience.  Much more than a place to sleep, Women’s will be your social base and a place to call home.  While you’ll have your own room, the communal areas are where you’ll develop lasting friendships.

Testimonial

Zoe Garraway was a Women’s College Associate Member in 2019 and became a Resident in 2020. She was the 2021 Associate Officer in the Student Club Executive team.

“My family lives in Norman Park in south-east Brisbane. When my dad and aunty were younger, they both attended college at UQ with my aunty residing at Women’s and they found it to be one of the most enjoyable experiences of their lives. I was keen to be able to experience something similar so decided in 2019 to be an associate member. I enjoyed the experience immensely that I decided to become a resident in 2020 even though my family still lives a 20 minute drive away. I have absolutely love every minute of college. The community is so supportive and helps me balance out my sport and studies. I hope other graduating school students and their families realise that college really is an experience for anyone.”
