Academic Scholarships are awarded to First Year students on academic merit based on school results, and to current residents who have a high GPA.

Ann Warrell Robilliard Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a resident who makes a valuable contribution to the life of the College. It is named after alumna Ann Warrell Robilliard (1972 – 1974), and was awarded for the first time in 2024.

Alumnae Awards Scholarship

Awarded to an inspirational student who has raised her profile and standing within the College community, demonstrating outstanding community service and/or continuous and significant contributions in a leadership role. These qualities, balanced with Academic Excellence, are taken into consideration. This scholarship was established in 2022 and is an initiative of Amanda Johnston-Pell, the inaugural 2021 Alumna of the Year Award winner, and her nominator, Paula Wilton, 1990 Student Club President.

Deborah Davis Academic Scholarship

Awarded to a student for achievements and proven excellence in academia prior to becoming a resident of The Women’s College. Deborah Davis was a resident of The Women’s College from 1977 to 1978. This Scholarship was first awarded in 2023.

Harriet Marks Scholarship

Awarded to a resident who achieved outstanding results in Science. This scholarship is named for Harriet Marks, who began her association with The Women’s College in 1920 as a resident scholar at Kangaroo Point. Miss Marks continued her close association with The Women’s College as a Council Member and was President of Council in the decade of the 1970s. After a long and distinguished contribution, Harriet Marks resigned from the Council in 1986 for health reasons.

Judith McCulloch Academic Scholarship

Awarded to a student on achievements and proven excellence in the field of science. This scholarship is named for Judith McCulloch (nĂ©e Smyth), a resident of Women’s in the 1960s.

Mary Wooza Scholarship

Awarded to a First Year who will make a valuable contribution to the life of the College and who may be financially disadvantaged from a rural/regional area. The recipient must be an all-rounder demonstrating a combination of achievements and proven excellence in the areas of sound academic merit, sport and/or cultural pursuits, community service, and leadership. This scholarship was established in 2022 and was an initiative of alumnae Dr Emily Garde and Jo Harris, who inspired fresher alumnae from the 1988 – 1992 year groups to support this new scholarship. It was decided that this new scholarship should be named the Mary Wooza Scholarship, as this was the era that Mary Wooza came to life courtesy of Lucy Moxon.

The Stan and Maureen Duke Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to a First Year resident who will make a valuable contribution to the life of the College. The Stan and Maureen Duke Foundation was established in 2006 to support a range of charitable causes. One of Stan and Maureen Duke’s daughters, Marian, was a resident of The Women’s College from 1982 to 1984.

The Women’s College & Student Club Scholarship

Awarded to a current student of The Women’s College in their third year of residence. This scholarship is awarded to an inspirational student who has raised her profile and standing within the College community, demonstrating outstanding community service and/or continuous and significant contributions in a leadership role. The recipient is a well-rounded student who has excellent participation or supported activities across all aspects of College life. This Scholarship is the result of the 2022 Student Club’s fundraising efforts through the UQ Giving Day in partnership with The Women’s College.
