A Q&A followed by a networking opportunity to engage with some of Women’s College Young Alumnae who have excelled in their chosen fields since leaving College.

Meet our panellists below.

Georgia Hayward (2019 Senior Resident Assistant) is an emerging artist, curator and leader. Graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Fine Arts, she is a Window Gallery Curator at Outer Space ARI and Venue Support Officer for the Moreton Bay Regional Council Galleries. She has been the President and CEO of the National Association of Australian University Colleges, a volunteer lead organisation and national charity. She was a finalist in the Women in Business Awards for the Greater Brisbane Region, and a two-time recipient of The Australian Defence Force Long-Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award.

Laura Milton (associate 2017 – 2019) was the Dentons Honours Scholarship recipient for 2020 and in February 2020 commenced her Honours project working in the QIMR Berghofer Cellular and Molecular Neurodegeneration group, examining the role of dysfunctional immune cells, known as microglia, in the brain in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). She graduated with a Bachelor of Advanced Science with First Class Honours in 2021, and was awarded Valedictorian of the UQ School of Biomedical Sciences. Laura is now completing a PhD in neurodegeneration.

Risa Utama (2018 – 2020) was Women’s 2022 Young Alumna Award winner and currently works 7NEWS Toowoomba as a reporter. When she was 15 years of age, she wrote, illustrated and published a children’s picture book, Benny Bilby’s Wish, to raise funds and awareness for the Save the Bilby Fund. While studying, Risa enjoyed working with Women in Media Queensland as a volunteer at their national conference. She also undertook internships in event management, business and entrepreneurship, and was an intern in radio, print, digital and television newsrooms during her degree.
