Alexandra Cochran
Years 11 and 12 Culture & Engagement Coordinator
Whites Hill State College

Alexandra Cochran is the Years 11 and 12 Culture & Engagement Coordinator at Whites Hill State College.

She has coordinated Year levels for the past eight years, and is also currently teaching Senior English in the SATE system.

Since graduating from The University of Queensland in 2013 with a Bachelor of Education / Bachelor of Arts, Alexandra has always had a passion for creating a positive school experience for every student and promotes improving learning outcomes as well as high levels of academic and social emotional wellbeing.

After attending Fairholme College (2003-2007) and The Women’s College (2009-2011), the value of culture, comradery and spirit were core elements that Alexandra wanted to bring to every student’s educational experience.

Briana Seibel
Teacher (Technologies)
Brisbane South State Secondary College

Briana (Bree) Seibel is a passionate Queensland State School teacher with nearly 20 years’ experience educating students in diverse locations, school settings and roles.

Beginning her teaching career in the Torres Strait on Mabuiag Island, Bree had the privilege of embracing the rich cultural community for two and half years and has since transferred seven times to take advantage of the department’s opportunities. This has allowed for unique experiences in both primary and secondary contexts in Far North Queensland and Metro Brisbane. These contexts include rural, regional and remote communities including Bamaga, Kuranda and Cairns.

In 2018, Bree had the honour of sharing her career journey and love for education with teachers, preservice teachers and secondary students as Teacher Career Ambassador for Teach Queensland for the Department.

Bree is now the Acting Head of Technologies Department at the new Brisbane South State Secondary College, a showcase school for Queensland.

Janet Stewart
Principal
Moreton Bay College

An experienced educator with a demonstrated history of working in the primary/secondary education industry, Janet Stewart is currently the Principal at Moreton Bay College.

A Growth Coaching International (GCI) Accredited Coach, Janet is skilled in coaching, communication, staff development, educational leadership, and teaching.
Janet was educated at Dumbarton Academy, Glasgow University and Jordanhill College of Education where she graduated from with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Distinction).

After eight years of teaching in the UK, Janet emigrated to Australia, teaching at Ipswich Girls Grammar. Janet commenced at Moreton Bay College in 1997, where she taught English and held the positions of Head of Wesley House and Deputy Head of Secondary Students, prior to becoming Head of College in 2017 and Principal in 2021.

Rebecca Sullivan
Dean of Students
Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School

Rebecca Sullivan has worked in education since 2004 and has extensive experience in both pastoral and curriculum leadership.

She began her teaching career at St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School as a Senior History and English teacher. She had numerous leadership positions at this school, including Head of History, Year Level Coordinator across Years 7 to 12, House Coordinator and Interact Coordinator.

Rebecca joined Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School in 2019 in the role of Dean of Students. She is a committed educator who is passionate about girls’ education and supporting students to achieve their personal best in a nurturing learning environment.

Rebecca is an alumna and resided at The Women’s College from 1999 – 2001.
