Due to scheduling issues, our presenter for the Finance 101 Ready to Lead Workshop has now changed. The updated Finance 101 workshop will focus on personal budgeting, tax returns, credit cards, shop-now pay-later options, investing/shares and the property market.

This workshop will be delivered by alumna Jo Cope (1988-1990), Managing Director and CEO of Providior, a provider of finance to law firms and their clients. Jo will be joined by her daughter, Aimee (alumna; associate 2015-2017), who will provide some insight into how she has purchased her first home unit at the age of 25. Meet our presenters below.

Jo Cope
Managing Director and CEO of Providior

Jo Cope is the Managing Director and CEO of Providior, a provider of finance to law firms and their clients. Her portfolio of work at Providior includes capital management, product development and business strategy. Jo has been instrumental in the company’s exceptional growth across all aspects of the funding portfolio and helped cement Providior’s position as one of Australia’s leading disbursement funders.

Jo has more than 25 years’ experience in finance, banking and leadership roles. Prior to joining Providior, Jo was the General Manger for a law firm and established a finance company to provide outlays funding to other personal injuries law firms. Jo has previously worked with ANZ and Bank of Queensland across a range of business units.

Jo holds Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from The University of Queensland, and a Graduate Certificate in Management from Queensland University of Technology.

Aimee Cope (associate alumna 2015 – 2017) graduated from The University of Queensland with a dual degree in Business Management and Psychology. Starting her career at ANZ, Aimee discovered a passion for personal finance. She has taken this with her through her roles at BHP and most recently, Queensland Rail. Despite working primarily in Human Resources, Aimee likes to stay up-to-date on all things finance to grow her understanding and share this with friends so we can achieve our financial goals.
