11:30am – 1:30pm Champagne High Tea ($70 per person)

Join us in commemorating the College’s remarkable 110th Anniversary at a Champagne High Tea, where alumnae including Freshers from the ’04 Year Groups will have their special milestone reunion. Be part of this special event with fellow alumnae while contributing to a meaningful cause that supports the Standing Committee Bursary and Academic Prizes.

The Master of Ceremonies for the Champagne High Tea will be alumna Samantha Heathwood (2000 – 2002). Click on the toggle below to read Samantha’s biography.

Samantha Heathwood has been a television journalist for 20 years, and is currently a presenter and senior reporter at Seven News Queensland.

After studying journalism at UQ in Brisbane, Samantha got her first job in Rockhampton at WIN Television as a news presenter and reporter. She worked for the network for eight years, including two years as the News Presenter in Toowoomba.

In 2012, Samantha and her young family moved to Sydney, where she worked as a presenter and producer for Nine News.

Samantha moved back home to Queensland in 2014, with her two boys, returning to work as a news reporter and presenter at Nine News in Brisbane.

In July 2017, Samantha became the first presenter of Nine News Regional Queensland, fronting eight bulletins every weeknight at 6pm.

Samantha made the switch to the Seven Network in July 2021, and has recently become the 6pm Weekend News Presenter and 4pm Afternoon News Presenter.

Samantha is a passionate ambassador for a number of charities, and is a proud alumna, having resided at Women’s College for three years from 2000 to 2002.
